Dokomo refused to sell the phone because it was only for their carrier. They also wouldn't give him a sim that tethers, even though he already had two with them. Dokomo said they would offer 10% discounts on all Sims if he bought an unlocked phone from Google again and came back to Japan. He says: "I think like locked phones are a fucking scam"
