The Importance of Groundwater

Since the 1970s somebody first estimated the total volume of groundwater. Over two billion people drink groundwater every day so that's a third of the global population. 40% of the irrigation water comes from groundwater globally. We've started depleting and actually permanently losing some of this groundwater around the world.
