The Importance of Listening
There's always characters in the background and they're always having a specific conversation. It was just constantly people are complaining about having to do laundry for the Queen. As the camera passes through, you sort of hear that stuff and it just it goes to kind of build a world. I'd be interesting to see if if Pinter had any conscious thing or if it was just a way that Pinter, you know, kind of felt things. But the effect of it, at least for me, is that it draws you into the movie in a way that so it demands you pay attention.
