The Politics of a Kid to Speak Armenian
I know a lot of my students find it hard to accept that the post genocide generation of survivors were largely Turkish speaking. This was their native mother tongue. If everyone in the family speaks English, what's the motivation for a kid to speak Armenian or tree or any of these other heritage languages? Because you need enough immersion and you need a real authentic need. So I love your kind of like proverbs and memorized chunks from your dad because those were a part of your lived experience.
