I've read quite a few marketing books that have really helped me with design as well. At the time, I wasn't pursuing design; I was still in my marketing degree. But now that I'm a designer, I think back to what I learned in those books and feel like I can really pull that into my designs as well. Start with Why by Simon Sennen is one of his favorite books. If you're a designer listening, definitely give that book a read.

Femke encourages us to take pride in our process by being willing to show our crappy work. She shows us how every small step can lead to something big. She teaches us how we can achieve anything in life, if we’re willing to take action. She also challenges us to wake up early to get the stuff done that we “never have time for”.
