Sabelius's Swan Theme
Sabelius was unashamedly romantic about the power of nature and its place in music. The last movement is an explosion of energy, exactly what we need afterthe second movement. This theme comes from a real life encounter tha zabelius had with 16 swans. He wrote about the experience in his diary in that rhapsodic, romantic way only he could.
