Sed Contra: A Podcast of Catholic Theology

CHAPTER

Is God's Passions Good or Evil?

I think that I think that one of the points you made is very instructive, because we would agree that there is something wrong with the human being who witnesses and atrocity and isn't moved by it. But for God, having his will, ordered to the welfare of human being, and so on, just looks different because he's not human. And this is an important case study for why we read scripture in the tradition, and not scripture just by itself. It can be very confusing to take up the Bible on your own and try to figure out whether God suffers without the without the tradition backing you up.
