The History of the Mall
In 1956, the Southdale Center in Minnesota opened at a cost of $20 million. The mall provided a prototype for most malls to come and they came fast. By 1960, just four years after the opening of the Southdale Centre, there were over 4,000 malls in America. Now that we have heard about how the mall came to America, I want to look at malls in Canada because they are a bit different.
