The Cost of Fatigue Training

The directionality of the effects here does seem to suggest that training closer to failure at least has some benefit. But there is a very big difference between performance decrements and actually changing the ability to benefit from a set. It's at least conceivable that we can't adapt to this and maybe the fatiguing aspects of it, I don't want to say overblown, but maybe overemphasized.
