The Differences Between Britain and the Spanish and Portuguese
I think that the British begin with this very strong idea of themselves, coming from ideas with a sort of mixed pedigree. They're going to create some kind of Empire of freedom, as opposed to the Spanish who have been involved in an Empire of conquest, conquest and pillage. But the similarities aren't in the sense that when the Spanish go, they also take their religion with them in a very proselytizing way.
