What Impact Did the Jacobite Rebellion Have on the Clans?
There was a huge range of different reactions to what's been termed the Glorious Revolution, which resulted in the expulsion of the Stuart. The clans depend on a belief in a blood-based dynasty. They have a strong belief on genealogical right and birthright - that is one of the basis of why they react so bitterly against the revolution. And since those clans were already beginning to feel pressure from their guiles, from the Campbell family, it also tend to look to the Stuart's as a form of protection.
