In his TED talk, Bill Gates said a rather unfortunate phrase that in light of him making health care services, people took to mean he wanted everyone on the planet to die. What he meant was if mothers are less worried that their children are going to die, then they have less kids. Population growth goes down as we improve health. And what the developing world does not need is more children.
