Putin - What He Takes Away From the KGB?
I feel quite strongly that Putin was already Putin before he joined the KGB. The KGB kind of added a layer of techniques, of ways of creating legends about oneself. In particular, that is something which Putin has done afterwards. Right through his career, his political career, he's created myths about his earlier times. They're all basically legends. When you strip them down, his accounts are in very large measure, untrue.
