The Changes in Chile's Social Progress
I think that basically the programs became stale. The people who had put them together, the Chicago boys, did not work in the government anymore. Why? Because the return to democracy and the other side was in power. But also they declared victory in the war ideas. They decided to then move into more lucrative lines of work. And no one stayed minding the ideas ship as it were. That is what's behind the uprising of October 2019.
