In 19 92, may jamieson became the first black woman to travel in space when she orbited the earth for eight days on the space shuttle. She was inspired also by star trick, because there was a lieutenant o'hura who was an african American. And we've had numerous afAfrican americans on board space station. We have one on board right now, a victor glover and i think it's important for minorities to see that. It was important for me to see a female in that role to make it real for me. But i am biased.
