For me where I'm really focused on was all of the energy that I spent in my 20s actively not trying to get pregnant but also rejecting a lot of messages about what family meant to me. It takes me like five years to figure out why I'm upset or mad about something and then five years I'm going well the statute of limitations is expired on this feeling. Now I'm just trying to sit in the gross feelings
Aminatou Sow has been on your airwaves since 2014. An early pioneer of podcasts, Aminatou co-hosts the hugely popular Call Your Girlfriend, where she tackles everything from marriage to toppling the patriarchy. Join us on this week's UnStyled, where Aminatou discusses chronic illness & menopause, her own recovery from cancer, and how a scare with her physical health ultimately impacted her emotional and mental health. Aminatou came to realize that friends will always be there to see her through, and it's that that led to her next project, with her creative soulmate and best friend: a book on what she calls "life's main course"...friendship.
