The Importance of Effective Wave Functions in Standard Quantum Mechanics
There's something wrong with this approximation, you know, no doubt the lowest order. You've derived the time-dependent Schrodinger equation for this quantum field on the background. It just so happens that while in pilot wave theory, this argument is not so strong. And it seems to me that probably at the end of the day, maybe the question can only be decided empirically.
