Singer, to me, is really important in being outside of the christian tradition. He cared about every aspect of what makes people human. I don't know if a salbello was too recent for him or why he would have not included more jewish authors. A definitely, singer is a worthy choice. It's a great pick. And i am so happy that you took him,. because i agree this is a bit of an oversight on bloom's part. Now that i'm coming up to my last choice, i'll talk about some of the also rans: edith wharton, mary shelley the brontes and alice monroe.
