Could Economics Ever Produce Another Person of Kane's Stature?

Economics as has got to adapt. Over the past forty, 50 years it has just narrowed the scope of what it does. Could economics ever produce another person of kane's stature? Yes. But will it? I think it's the real question. Economics in general is viewed with less prestige and authority than 15 or 20 years ago.
