In general, jim tended to keep the radical stuff between himself and the inner circle until 72 or 73 or so. He always preached radical politics, but he was talking to people in urban gettos who, again, were surrounded by militant rhetoric. There ere many members who stayed in the church because they'd become friends. They didn't relly care that much one way or another for jim jones.
