The Project of Language Activism, Chapter Five
The book is a project of language activism. It's an effort to challenge linguistic forms that seem to limit our understanding of human experience and distort perception of social reality. We talk about the development in the 1940s by Raphael Lemkin of the concept of genocide. The point of challenging them is to open conceptual space, cultural space, to create new linguistic forms that are more consistent with humane regard.
