The Temple Is for Purification and Purification
The flood was forty days upon the earth. The waters increased and bare up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth. This is such a powerful symbol of cleansing and purity. To think about nothing outside the temple being preserved eternally. God is trying to bring us into his house. He's trying to invite us into the ark. We're doing the same when people sometimes complain that no one can enter the temple.
