Batteries have an enormous role to play in the UK's energy system. They can run a house from two days to day and a half, but they could do it at gigawatt level with hydrogen. We're going to need another technology to get us to net zero if we want carbon sequestration systems. And nuclear can play a role there if it's running by base load - which is partly why public are willing to accept nuclear as a source of generation.
