Parlo Parlan and the Monkey
Vivenna finds a parrot and a monkey tortured to death in the safe house where she is being held. The book's pacing isn't great, but there are more action sequences than previous books. Vivenna was kidnapped by Vasher at the start of the book; he turns out to be one of her captors. She escapes from his clutches only to find that denthan tong fa have also been taken hostage.
