Brain Plasticity Is Competitive

I worry that if we start talking too much about how plastic the brain is that we lose this nuance and people think that all of a sudden the potential for changing the brain is limitless well I sure I never argue it's limitless but i do want to distinguish between flexible and rigid behaviors and brain plasticity because they tend to get mapped on each other. In my first book i describe how many things that appear to be rigid are actually a function of plasticity so using a metaphor which is commonly used in science that was originally used with respect to plasticity by Alvaro Pasqualeoni who's now at Harvard Plasticity is like snow on a hill in winter when you first want to go
