Bob Greene: If you really want a luxury car, you're not going to like this. He says he hates cars because they require so much attention and maintenance. So if I can borrow the money for the $70,000 car and maybe I pay 5% interest and then the cash that I save from buying the car, I can invest it. "I think what we tend to forget," Greene says of people who take out loans in order to enjoy other things.
