The Christmas Story of Anna and Bathsheba

There are of course many more women in the Christmas story than the three that we've considered this Christmas time, Elizabeth and Mary and Anna. Matthew who told the story of Jesus' birth, he actually started with genealogy of Jesus' ancestry. He mentioned Bathsheba, the woman whom King David stole from one of his special forces operators arranging for his death in battle. And I think Bathsheba longed for a righteous king to arise. Before Ruth was RahabMatthew says, in her past she'd been a prostitute in the Canaanite city of Jericho. She probably had prayed the prayer in Psalm 72 that said that one day a king would arise above all other kings.
