Introduction
In Exodus 34 seven, the lord says he keeps steadfast love for thousands and that he forgives iniquity and transgression and sin. That all sounds wonderful to us, doesn't it? Those are the things that we have experienced as followers of christ. But then we get to that next phrase, he will no, by no means clear the guilty. And so god doesn't just overlook sin, is what he's saying here. He doesn't just wipe it away with no payment or no punishment for it. All of that has to be done, has to be paid for. And it happens through jesus.
