The phrases that we speak to people in conversation have arcs and trajectories that are very, very similar to throwing a ball back and forth. And i mean, it's really why we're able to fluidly play catch. It's why rable to fluidlyplay tennis. It's all about the anticipation. You know, you and i are both very, very good at knowing it has ball is arching down towards us. When it is, we should start gearing up to speak. But instead, we're ready before the other person has stopped speaking. Really good conversation sounds like an unbroken ribbon of sound. It's almost as if it hadn't one voice speaking.
