The Relationship Between Elites and the Election
The idea that the defeat of the rising majority minority coalition led by women and African Americans is being framed as this destruction of elites feels to me like a pretty good marketing job on some level. Elites have become a term a little bit like clickbait, right? Totally. It means people I don't like. There is certainly a version of elite that includes conceptually least, billionaire, Manhattan real estate developer who has television shows, Donald Trump. The other is that it's such a relative term, right? Like Gary Cohn, in the administration in a Goldman Banker, is unquestionably an elite, right? Yes.
