So 5000 years ago to the people of Ireland then, that would have let them know today is the first day of spring. The pagan Irish festival of embulk means the start of spring and it's a very optimistic festival. Now we don't celebrate embulk now because it's forgotten. We celebrate St Bridget's Day but embulk in Ireland.
