Introduction
The Unix operating system was developed at AT&T's Bell Labs in the late 1960s. If you have a smartphone, either Apple or Android, then you're running some form ofUnix-related software. Even tiny things like microcontrollers can be made to run Unix-like software. But notice something in my last carefully worded statement: I never said any of those things are running Unix.
