How to Tune the Engine Maps Using the Diffuser Exhaust
The engine was not firing straight into the diffuser itself. The only allowable hole in the diffuser was for the starter motor and knew he was clever enough to vertically extend that so that air being ramped from the exhaust would pass both above or below it. So they were still trying to get these engine maps and trying to measure the exhaust flows coming out of it, but just didn't have the exhaust in the right place.
