How to Cultivate a Compassionate Mind

A major practice in CFT is one called compassionate self. It doesn't matter whether you feel that you are or are not a compassionate figure, but if you were going to be, what qualities would you have? And then we add on to that. So we get people imagining that they have wisdom and strength. We can imagine and get you learning how to tolerate your own distress as somebody else's. Then the final quality is a care and commitment, a desire to be helpful, not harmful. That's almost like the foundations, mindfulness and those sort of things help too.
