The Power of Perspective Theory
Stanley: I've been reading Jennifer Nash's recent book, Black Feminism Reimagine this summer. She talks about the way that intersectionality is a term has been deployed in such a way that it puts black women on the defensive. Stanley: One of the reasons I think I was drawn to standpoint theory and that I have enjoyed working on it is that, to me, it reflects kind of what I think schooling could be instead of what it is. Stamplant epistemology is saying your differences are beautiful, and a beautiful, good world works when we acknowledge those differences, not when we try to deny and disappear them.
