The Importance of Neurodiversity in the University Experience
I dropped out of uni and went back to do the masters and now the PhD. I was mostly working in digital journalism, but found academia useful because it rewards associative way that we have of thinking. There is a very slow, glacial pace of improvements around the understanding of how neurodiversity can kind of intersect with the university experience. We're only just getting like, accessibility, physical accessibility in a lot of universities. It has been tricky to advocate for myself in a way that didn't feel like it was being received as sort of deaver behavior. And then ironically, I actually ended up being bullied.
