Coffee - The History of Coffee in Sweden

Coffee was introduced to Sweden in 1674. In 1746, a royal edict was issued regulating its use along with very heavy taxes and penalties for perceived misuse of this of this new drink. If you didn't comply with the edict, you'd be fined and brilliantly, you would have your cups and dishes confiscated. So eventually, coffee was just banned outright.
