The World Cup is a global event that brings joy to literally billions of people. Is that enough of a benefit to put up with all the costs? That's a really hard question to answer, but if you focus only on the horror and the negative, we can totally forget that there's another side of the ledger. And that's why I would say to Irene and her friend and painting class, yeah, paint, enjoy it. Have a great time with your friends, and then use your frustration and your sense of helplessness to drive you to do something that's gonna have some kind of positive impact as small as it may be.
