It used to be a thing to speculate that the brain was a so called small world architecture. And one of the things you say in the book is that it turns out the brain is not a small world network. Could you explain what a small world is and why the brain does not qualify? I think giving a remarkable ability of context dependence and flexibility of computation that we see in all animals that survive to this day. We're finding that these parts of the brain are more densely interconnected than they would even need to be able to spread information fast.
