National Trauma and Forgiveness
In reading your book, I was struck by how forgiveness seems to operate on different scales. And can you talk or speak more about national trauma and forgiveness? Yeah, that's a great question. For a couple of reasons, just because I'm Japanese American, my mom is an immigrant from Japan to this country. My grandfathers fought on the opposite sides of World War II. They kind of revere war criminals as enshrines in the US community shrine in Japan.
