The Rise of the Master's Aged Athlete

A master's athlete is an athlete over the age of 35 years who systematically trains and competes in events for older athletes. Kelly Slater at 47 still being highly competitive on the World Surfing League. In Australia a master's swimmer can be 20 years of age so it varies from sport to sport country to country but we operationally define it as 35 years and someone who trains systematically. The value of exercise into wilder age is for not only longevity that is quantity of life but also quality of life, according to research.
