The Comparison Between France and the UK in Integration
Douglas Rushkoff: I think that France has very serious issues when it comes to matters of integration. He says there is a mainstream sociopolitical reluctance to acknowledge what he calls "very real forms of racial and religious discrimination" In the UK, in recent times we've obsessed too much over matters of race and identity,Rushkoff writes. But whether it's in terms of our race relations, legislation, qualities, legislation, or the fact that we have relatively flexible labor markets, we do have a more effective framework for integrating ethnic and racial minorities.
