Is There Space Before the Big Bang?

We don't know what space is because we don't have a single coherent theory for the whole universe. Quanti mechanics describes basically everything that has to do with little particles at small scales and all the forces that we're familiar with, except for gravity. General relativity talks about how space is curved and is bent, and that's really what gravity is. And so the answer to the question, what is space, sorti depends on whose perspective you want to take first.
