The Military Is Taking Over the Private Sector
Egypt's army has long had an economic empire. The military makes pasta, it makes bottled water and runs a network of petrol station. But its economic role has grown significantly over the past nine years. Since the military stage de coup in two thousand and 13, the military has branched into new sectors. There is a almost a disdain of the private sector within the military. It's become so diversified that it's not clear why it's branching into these sectors.
