The Flight to Quality in the US Equity Markets
US consumers will always spend money unless- I love spending money. Unless something happens that scares the shit out of them. In October of 18, into Christmas, consumers spending stopped on a dime because the market went down 19.9%. So this does not surprise me at all. But again, with each passing day, credit card debt, either side of a trillion dollars, that's a problem in a rising interest rate environment.
