The body of Mr. Pouvong Sae, an activist who had earlier that year been engaging with a pro-democracy Lauviaspora organisation, was found with signs of firearm wounds. Four Indigenous Mong citizens of Lau disappeared from the Pouvia mountain forest in 2020 and 2021.
