Putin's Long Game

I don't think he has grand ambitions as some people have suggested that he wants to be defence minister or even president. The main thing is this, look, he is involved in two wars. One of them is clearly with the Ukrainians. The other one is with all his rivals back home including defence minister Shoyigu. Is it bad for Putin if he isn't seen to be doing something about him? Something to control, preggoation? There is a considerable potential for real problems for Putin here.
