Is Doctrine Important?

When I was doing my graduate work, I got really interested in the way the body relates to theology. That's remained a really important focus for me through the years and continues to be a part of my writing. And I want to help my students see how being competent in doctrine will matter for every aspect of ministry - not just preaching though. One likes to hear good doctrine in a sermon, but in pastoral care, in teaching, in prayer, in worship, all these things are woven together with the great truths of the Christian faith.
