The Persia of Darius the Great
In chapter four and in chapter five of the book of Ezra we see what happened during the reign of Darius king of Persia. The work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of King Darius. What we're going to see in chapter five is how that long shadow cast by Cyrus and his legacy applies pressure to Darius to get things back on track for the rebuilding process in Jerusalem.
