The Sign of the Son of Man

The 144,000 are a group that's mentioned in the book of Revelation. Among mainstream Bible scholars, they're commonly understood to be a symbol of all of the saved - not a literal group of exactly 144,000 people. Ellen seems to indicate that the 144,000 were alive at the time and that she was one of them. That would put the Second Coming during her lifetime, but that would not be the case. And there were trials ahead for these people.
